CAST IRON CASTOR WHEELS – 350-1500KG RATED

This wheel is made of solid cast iron. It is used on its own or in heavy duty castors.

Due to it being solid cast iron it is very strong and will take high loads. With no type of tread the cast iron wheel has very low rolling resistance and combined with the ball bearing centres makes them easy to push when high load castors are used.
They have very good wear properties as the tread is cast iron; when installed will last a very long time.
Cast iron wheels are also resistant to a lot of abrasive and aggressive substances.
Typical applications are in the gantry castors and boat cradles. They can also be used, in some castors, where heat is an issue like foundry castors and automotive autoclave castors.

This wheel is a Elastic polyurethane on a Aluminium centre.
The Elastic poly tread is softer than a standard polyurethane wheel, 80 shore, but can till carry good loads in heavy duty castors.
The wheel has a aluminium centre making them light and are fitted with bearings which allows them to be pushed easier.
They are aesthetically good looking and when combined in a castor bracket are a very useful, general purpose castor.
The elastic property makes them very quiet running but also gives them some shock absorbing qualities.
They are very useful where a heavy duty castor is required to be light and also in environments where noisy castors can be an issue. For these reasons they are very good i applications that require castors for towing; large factories where product is moved by tug on trollies that are towed between locations.

This wheel has a fluted aluminium centre and a polyurethane tread. Like all polyurethane wheels they are quiet running and help to protect floors from damage where a heavy castor is being used.

The poly/ally wheel has the added benefit of being very light compared to a poly/cast wheel. This means they can be an advantage if a lighter castor is needed but still needs to carry a high load. The wheels are fitted with ball bearings which help to make them more manoeuvrable and easier to push when high loads are applied to the castors.
These wheels are used a lot in the automotive castors and airport castors but are suited to all kinds of castor applications.

Round profile Polyurethane on cast iron wheels are also known known as crown Poly cast wheels; they have a very round profile polyurethane tread bonded to a cast iron core. They have bearing centres which help with the initial inertia to get the wheels to move.

The polyurethane gives a high load capacity yet will protect floors from damage where heavy duty castor are being used and with the round profile they have less traction on the floor. A Elastic Thermoplastic Polyurethane tread is bonded to a solid nylon centre and fitted with a ball bearing centre.
This castor wheel is very strong and robust for its size and is available as either 100mm or 125mm wheel diameter.
The Poly Nylon wheel has a softer tread than normal polyurethane wheels so is very quiet and smooth running wheel.
The ball bearing centres make pushing the castor wheel very easy and saves on energy by the user.

Elastic Polyurethane wheels have very similar properties to any other Polyurethane wheel but have a slightly softer tread.

This is a Polyurethane wheel fitted to a black nylon centre. The wheel is fitted with roller bearings which make the wheel very manoeuvrable.
