GATE CASTORS

This gate castor has been specially designed to help support the ends of wide gates and doors to help reduce the strain on hinges & supports to provide smooth operation and movement. This gate castor is suitable for a wide variety of applications such as industrial, agricultural, security or heavy domestic gates and doors. The spring loaded design provides automatic height adjustment over uneven or sloping surfaces. The castor features a Synthetic Elastic Rubber tyred wheel with a sealed ‘greased for life’ ball journal axel bearings to provide years of smooth trouble free operation.

The spring has a maximum compression of 3″/75mm and will provide up to 70kg of force*. When fitting the gate castor we recommend careful consideration of the location the castor is fitted in before any attempt is made to fit it.

For anybody unfamiliar with the concept of gate castors, please note that the gate castors are not designed to carry the entire weight of the gate, but to provide support at the ends of gates or doors to relieve the strain and wear on hinges and supports from day to day use and to also provide a smoother & more controlled movement. Therefore the gate castor will need to be mounted as far away from the hinges or supports as possible (The opposite end) in order to be as effective as possible.
